About SIP Calculator India

A SIP calculator helps estimate how a regular monthly investment could grow over time. Enter your monthly SIP amount, an assumed annual return and the investment period. This calculator assumes each SIP instalment is invested at the end of the month and compounds at a constant monthly rate. The result is an illustration, not a guaranteed return.

How to use this calculator

  1. Enter your monthly SIP amount.
  2. Enter an assumed annual return percentage.
  3. Choose the investment duration in years.
  4. Review the invested amount, estimated returns and projected value.

SIP calculator example: ₹10,000 per month for 10 years

If you invest ₹10,000 at the end of each month for 10 years and assume a 12% annual return converted to a 1% monthly rate, the model estimates a future value of about ₹23.0 lakh. Your total contributions would be ₹12 lakh, with about ₹11.0 lakh representing projected growth.

This is an illustrative calculation, not a return forecast. Actual mutual-fund returns vary and may be negative over some periods.

Calculation methodology

The calculator uses a standard monthly-compounding SIP model. The monthly contribution is assumed to be invested at the end of each month, and the annual return entered by the user is converted to a monthly rate for the estimate.

Formula / calculation model

FV = P × [((1 + r)^n − 1) / r], assuming each monthly SIP is invested at the end of the month.

Important assumptions and limitations

Actual mutual-fund returns vary over time. The result does not account for expense ratios, taxes, exit loads, market volatility or the exact NAV on each instalment date.

Frequently asked questions

How does a SIP calculator work?

It estimates the future value of regular monthly investments using the monthly rate derived from the assumed annual return and the number of monthly instalments.

Are SIP returns guaranteed?

No. Mutual fund returns are market-linked and actual returns can be higher or lower than the assumed rate.

What happens if I invest ₹10,000 every month?

Enter ₹10,000 as the monthly investment, then choose your assumed annual return and investment period. The calculator will show the total amount invested, estimated returns and projected value.

Can I use this calculator for mutual funds in India?

Yes, it is designed as an educational projection for regular mutual-fund SIP investments in India. Actual results depend on market performance, NAVs, fees and taxes.
